Gothic Literature
Gothic fiction is literature from the 19th century Victorian era. It is characterized by a meshing of the supernatural and the real, bringing about an eerie sense of possibility in the horrific events that occur. Gothic fiction has created some of the most famous characters that we still identify in pop culture today, such as Jekyll and Hyde, Dracula, and Frankenstein.
The wordle to the left contains some key terms that characterize gothic literature. As the semester progressed, the class collaboratively modified this wordle, as we were exposed to more literature. The link below is the final version.
